From vision to impact - the story of SSDI's growth and transformation
Donna Delaney founded SOCIAL SERVICES DATABASE INC with a vision to bridge the educational gap in underserved communities. Starting with a small team of volunteers, SSDI began providing tutoring support to 50 students in the local area.
SSDI expanded to serve 150+ students across multiple communities. The organization established formal partnerships with local schools and launched the mentorship program with 25 trained volunteers.
SSDI received official 501(c)(3) non-profit status (EIN: 36-4856146), enabling tax-deductible donations and expanded funding opportunities. This milestone allowed for greater program development and community reach.
Recognizing the financial barriers to education, SSDI launched a tuition assistance program providing support to 75 families. The organization also established the Summer Learning Camp, serving 200+ students annually.
SSDI's programs grew to serve 300+ students with 100+ active volunteers. The organization expanded to new geographic areas and developed specialized programs for different age groups and learning needs.
Today, SSDI serves 350+ students, supports 50+ families with tuition assistance, and engages 150+ volunteers. The organization continues to expand its reach and develop innovative programs to meet community needs.
IF we provide comprehensive educational support, tutoring, mentorship, and financial assistance to children and families in underserved communities,
THEN students will improve academically, develop critical life skills, gain confidence, and be better prepared for future success.
AND families will have reduced financial burden, increased access to resources, and stronger community connections.
